Hydroponic Growing
Clay Pebbles vs Rockwool for Hydroponics

Clay Pebbles (LECA)
Baked clay balls that hold moisture and air, reusable after a good clean. Great in DWC and as a top layer. They do not hold nutrients, so the solution does the feeding.
Rockwool
Spun mineral fibres that hold water and air beautifully and stabilise seedlings. It is single-use, dusty when dry, and slightly alkaline -- rinse and pH before use.
Which to Choose
- Beginners / DWC: clay pebbles -- clean and forgiving.
- Seedlings / NFT: rockwool cubes -- easy rooting.
- Reuse-minded: clay pebbles win.
