How the Calculator Works
Window direction sets the intensity of light, while daily sun hours sets the duration. We match plants whose minimum needs are met by your space. A low-light plant (e.g. Snake Plant) will also be happy in a brighter spot, so it still appears — just keep it out of harsh, direct midday sun if it prefers shade.
Tips for Darker Homes
- Rotate plants weekly so all sides reach the light.
- Wipe leaves monthly so they absorb more available light.
- Add a full-spectrum LED grow light for sun-lovers in dim rooms.
- Group plants together to raise local humidity.
